64
Today, trophies are marketed to represent every imaginable sport known to mankind. And with sports being played all year long with championships in the winter, summer, spring and fall the trophy businesses have no trouble keeping busy.
Besides the winning trophy there are many awards given out through the season in any given sport. Awards such as; Most Valuable Player, Most Improved, Most Outstanding, Best Sportsmanship and Rookie of the Year are also some awards to think about.
When deciding on which trophy will work best for your sports needs, you first have to ask yourself a few questions.
What type of trophy?
Trophies are manufactured almost exclusively of different types of plastic.
- Acrylic Trophies
- Crystal Trophies
- Glass Trophies
- Cup Trophies
- Plaques
- Medals
Make sure to look at each type of trophy to decide which one works best for your sport needs.
What is the sport?
This should be the easy part. Sports range from football and basketball to billiards and darts and everything in between. However, be sure to take into consideration who is playing the sport; are they male or female, young or old.
What size trophy?
The size of the trophy should be appropriate with the age of the players. The individual player trophies should be smaller in comparison with the team trophy. Will the trophy be showcased in a trophy case or be sitting on a mantle in the players home.
What is the cost?
Your budget plays a big part in what kind of trophy you get. The price can be anywhere in the range from inexpensive to priceless. They can be unique as in a one-of-a-kind or mass-produced as in molded plastic figures costing less than a dollar each.
However, here’s what’s important - as your players step up to receive their trophies for all the hard work and dedication they’ve given to the team and to the sport they love, they won’t be thinking about its monetary value, only about the pride they’re feeling and the legacy they’re leaving behind!
